Les Papier de Pandore: The Best Gift Ever - And 2Peas Top 3

The last three months I have been guest designing for the French paper manufacturer Les Papiers de Pandore and as I have mentioned earlier, I now have been included in the regular design team. My term starts officially, I think now in April.
I can't wait to see the new collection in real life. It will arrive here in a few days.I will share it with you as soon as I am allowed to. I don't want to get into trouble...LOL!

I have tried to use mostly paper on the layout and not so many other embellishments to distract from the beautiful designs.
I journaled on paper strips and it says:

You often say that Lady (the kitten) is the best gift you ever received.
You even say thet you have the best parents ever.
I hope you will still say that when you are a teenager!

All the papers are from Les Papiers de Pandore, collection 'Garden Party'.
Letter stickers are from October afternoon and the fabric ones are Prima.
The tiny butterfly I  made from an old book page.

I photographed the page outside to get some natural light.I love the shadows from the banner.

I cut the banner from the different pp's and joined with a piece of twine. I added some liquid pearl too.

That was all the close ups for now!
Another good thing that happened today, well started  yesterday, is that one of my layouts came pretty high up on the list on 2Peas.

I made Top 3 Both 'liked' and 'bookmarked' and I was fourth on most viewed. I tell you it felt cool to see my page up there. We must remember to enjoy all the little happy things that happen every day....

A fun thing was that Julie Blanc who owns Le Papiers de Pandore, was number one, although not in this picture.

Okay! Finally I would just like to remind you of the sketch contest over at Your Scrapbook Stash.
You have until the 31st of March to link up your project!

I think that covers it...lol!

Thanks for now!

YSS sketch challenge

There has been a lot of talk about sketches and new sketchblogs lately.
Just wanted to let you know about this:

The YSS  sketch challenge lasts until march 31st.

Who doesn't love a good sketch. They are such a great help to get the mojo flowing.
This is a great simple contest with a good chance to win!

Use any of the sketches from the 2011 DT gallery.

You can read about the challenge and link it HERE .

You may win a PRIZE as well and I have heard from previous winners that Erica sends the BEST STUFF!

You are free to combine our sketches with other types of challenges too.
Go for it! You know you want to!!

Echo Park *For the Record* The Backseat Gang.

First I would like to take a minute to remind you of the exciting new kid on the block called  Once Upon A .....Sketch . They don't just give great sketches but even help get the creative juices flowing with the journaling. There will be prompts as to how you should do it differently each week. I have seen the sketches as I am on this AMAZING designteam.
And as if it was not fabuloso  already, we have been joined by two more super creative ladies, Gerry Van Gent from the Netherlands and Carole Janson from Australia.
If you have not checked out their blogs you really should you know...!

This is a layout I made a couple of weeks ago with the beautiful DT-kit from Your Scrapbook Stash.

I got on very well in the beginning but then got stuck. I decided it was almost finished , but not quite.
I am still not a hundred percent sure about it, but wanted to share it as I am posting it to the gallery over at YSS today.
This is mostly from the kit. I just added the tiny roses and the buttons. But even those things can be forund in Ericas store.

The picture was taken maybe three or four years ago on our way back from Provence/France where we spend many vacations. It had been laying in my photo box for ages and I am very happy that I finally got to scrap it.
Many people complain that they can't go anywhere on car trips with their children because they fight. Well, then we are a small exception...lol! I think that maybe its because we have always been doing it, ever since the eldest was in a car seat. It would get pretty loud at times though if they should happen to get too close or they wanted the same game for the Game Boy etc.
Of course they fought in the backseat sometimes, but they would do that anyway, where ever they were. I guess that is one of the good things of having them a few years apart. Not so much fighting! And now they are older it is even better!

Twine and buttons,...gotta have them..! LOL

Cheerio, enjoy the week end!

Color Combos 185, Carefree.

This is what I would like to share with you on this rainy morning!
It is my take on this weeks challenge at Color Combos Galore . I really loved both the colours and the design prompt this week.

I often like to do a lot of distressing on my pages. I find that spraying them. or immersing them quickly in water makes them more 'pliable'. When they dry they have a lot of patina so to speak. - And a lot of texture.
The picture is just a random one from everyday life. My youngest playing happily in the garden last Summer

This challenge is now live at CCG and you have until March 30th to post your take. You can choose to do the designer challenge too, which is to use bold print. So many lovely to choose from!

My bold print is a patterned paper from October Afternoon.

In the closeup you can see what happens when you get rough with your paper. I love the little bursts of red.it is such a happy happy colour!

I used a stapler to make the lace trail along the upper edge. I did not glue down the border as I wanted it to feel loose and free. Afterall the title is 'Carefree'...lol!

Some more closeups coming up:

Before you go don't forget to check out THE NEW SKETCH BLOG.
You can read more about it in the previous post!

This is just what one of our scrappy friends had to say"

eila.sandberg said... Holy smoke Nadia, you are going to rock the scrapposphere with this incredibly talented crew of yours! It's not just one goddess you have managed to get onboard, it's the whole darned mount Olympus! YOOOOOOOHOOOOO!! :)

Thanks for coming to see me and my dabblings, it is most appreciated!

Scrapbookers please help the people of Japan!

As you will all know by now, Japan is in the midst of a terrible crisis. The Japanese people is suffering on many levels and  the Japanese scrapartist Tomoko Takahashi calls out for other scrapbookers to help.

I know that I will be making cards to send over so that she can sell them and raise some money.

I have copied this from her blog:

We need your help....

"Hi everyone.
On March 11th, there was a big earthquake, the biggest earthquake ever to hit Japan recorded as magnitude 9.0 in Tohoku region. Also, that earthquake led another big quake in Kanto capital region. I am seeing these scenes by news and just feel so terrified by this tragedy....

I want to call out for your help. I am thinking of selling artists/scrapper's creations on online in Japan(they can be cards or anything) and donate the profit to Japan Red Cross Society, where they can send the profit to the places that were affected. I will be making some projects myself too.

If you are able to help, please send me an email to "ponyo0315@gmail.com" so I can send you the address to send your creation(s).

***Since all profits will be donated,  I hope you will understand that I will not be able to pay for the expenses.

Here are some updates.
You will be sending your project(s) to me and I will be selling them on online(Still haven't confirmed how but thinking of the bet way we can do this)

We will be selling these to people in Japan (since we do not ship to overseas) The layouts and altered will be sold in the price of 3,000 Yen (About $36) and cards for 1,000 Yen (About $12). I know the price is not high, but we want more and more people to participate for the donantion. The profit will be donated to Red Cross Society.

***Update***
I have given advises to sell the creations worldwide. It's just that I'm a little scared to do that since I have never sold anything to foreign countries before, and I will be mostly doing this myself....... (some girls will help though)

If someone can due for foreign countries too, that will be great help!!!!!
Thank you so much for your understanding.

Thank you so much for your cooperation!!!!!!

Love,
Tomoko "

Please check back to Tomokos blog to see the development of this effort.
Thanks!

Echo Park *For the Record* ' Lady love'.

I am having so much fun this month with my fabulous products from Your Scrapbook Stash.

I want to share another layout using "For the Record" from Echo Park.

The pictures are of Beatrice and our kitten, Lady. We have had Lady for a few months and we love her to bits! Beatrice wanted a pet for the longest time but we did not think she was ready. When she was ten we
bought Lady from a 'shelter'.

Today Beatrice came to me cuddling the kitten and said;
If you dream about something and you think it is going to happen, in the end it will!

It made me happy that she has got that outlook on life!

I made this layout for the sketch challenge over at The Paper Variety. It is one of the sites that Your Scrapbook Stash is sponsoring this month.
The gorgeous sketch was made by the talented Jana Eubank.

Papers are almost exclusively Echo Park and also the letter stickers. The chipboard stickers are Pink Paislee from my stash. The black doily is Maya Road. I even used twine and a button from my stash.I made the die cut label with a die from Quickutz.

I used pop dots behind the flags for the banner. I photographed the layout outside and I quite of like the shadows cast by the afternoon sunshine.

Some more close ups:

It was a long time since I made one of these pleated flowers. I had decided that I was not going to use the ususal collections of flowers on this. Sometimes I get a feeling that people use far too many flowers on any kind of layout. It is so easy to add some flowers and everything looks good!

Your Scrapbook Stash sponsors The Color Room

It has been a long time since I did a lo for The Color Room.

This month Your Scrapbook Stash is a sponsor of the site. With a bunch of papers from Echo Park *Be Mine* still left in my DT kit I decided to take part!
This is my take on the challenge.
I was out shopping with Beatrice when she told me she needed a new hat. Then suddenly we found this one that we both liked. A cute one with a crochet flower.

The letter stickers that are in the collection are awsome.
I double matted them to make a matching title for my page. The black bling swirl and most of the flowers are Prima. Embroidered precious lace is from my stash. I layered some papers to make a photo mat and added a punched strip as a border.

I just love the look of this diamond patterned paper.I think it adds a little sophistication to the design.

The page is pretty chunky, as mine normally are! ...But I have done worse....

Some more close ups...A picture is worth a thousand words...

Thanks for visiting me!

Color Combos Galore # 184

In my DT kit from Your Scrapbook Stash I received soem Echo park *Be Mine* and I just love the beautiful patterns and pretty colours of the papers!

Although from the beginning a Valentines release they are versatile and can be used for all kinds of girly pages I think.

I was happy to see that I could use this line for making my page for  Color Combos Galore this week.
I must admit that I had a hard time finding the exact right colours for the mustard seed but at least I tried. I have not had much time to enjoy shopping lately so I had to make do.
It is rather an unusual, yet lovely hue.

I suppose if I had been brought into the world of mists and other mysteries (I will..I promise..!) I could have tried with that.

Still here it is.
I am happy that I got to document this moment in my DD Victoria's life. She is with some of her friends after graduation-service at the local parish church, and we are going back to the school for a meal with all the graduating pupils, teachers and parents.
It is such a big day and she had been preparing for the events of this whole week for a long time.

The prompt this week was to use sheer ribbon on the layout.
I used that and I even used a premade lovely sheer bloom from Lily Bee. The larger flower is handmade.
I received the pink roses as a gift from a friend far away. (Thanks N!) They were a bit chunky for my lo so I cut them in halves to make them well...,half as chunky. I then coated the back with glue so they would not disintegrate. I think they are lovely and a great colour for this combo. They are made of a rubbery material.
I even used bling stones the same colour as in the inspiration photo.

I LOVE this frame.
It is one of a very few items from Dusty Attic that I have been able to get my hands on!
I painted it and used it to frame a music patterned sheet.
I put the name of the song that Victoria sang solo in church. It is called 'Goodbye to you'. She changed parts of the text to make it more fitting for the occation.  And I can say that hardly an eye was dry in that congregation. I think she was so brave to do that!

I used some older Pink Paislee for the title down the side.

Some more closeups;

It is my intention to be back later with another layout to share. I did one for TCR this week but have not been able to photograpth it in daylight. I was thrilled to see that I could use this Echo Park collection for that challenge too...

Hope to see you later!

Some excellent news for me!

I have been invited to become a more permanent fixture on the Design Team of the French paper manufacturer Les Papiers de Pandore.

I feel very happy and greatful to Julie Blanc for the confidence she is showing me. I have been a guest designer there during Jan-March and I really love the products Julie comes up with. I have had a sneak peak at the collection that will show in April and it is absolutely lovely. The rest of the design team are fab and super creative too.You should head over and check them out.
I shall post the links here in the near future so that you can hop over there easily.
I have been quite busy lately with different obligations, scrap and other, but I decided to accept the invitation because it would not add to my commitments as it is something that I am already doing.
It was just something I wanted to do....

Here you can see some examples of the work I have done with the present collection called Garden Party.

That's my good news for today!!

Please check back tomorrow when I will have some layouts to share for both Color Cobos Galore and The Color room  (sponsored by Your Scrapbook Stash this month).

See you then!

Another Echo Park. You are a Doll.

Hello my dear blog friends!!
Hope you are having a good day so far!

I have another Echo Park project to share with you today.

Erica at Your Scrapbook Stash sent me these lovely papers and embellishments to work with.
So much fun.
This time I decided to step outside my comfort zone and experiment with fussy cutting which I don't normally do.  I had a good time cutting away in front of the television, and I think the layout  looks ok. I just think it looks a bit flat compared to what I am used to...lol. Would fit more layouts into my album though.
The pic is of youngest DD taken last year. Her hair is even longer now, and she is getting really tired of it. I have promised she can cut it but keep postponing it.

I have made a small collage with little pics so you can appreciate my patience in cutting out small elments...LOL!

Thanks for your visit!!

Color Combos Galore 183 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

This weeks inspiration board at Color Combos galore looks georgeous, don't you think?

I loved the colours, byt then I say thet every week ...
I had butterfly pictures ready on my computer and I took it from there.

I see now that the pic looks a bit crooked but I promise it is really straight...lol!
This came together rather fast which is unusual for me. But then the amount of distressing I like to dao takes quite a lot of time.

The twine is so fun to use. Works well as a butterfly trail.

The gorgeous flower looks handmade but really I cheated and used one from Prima.

It was a bit hard to get these older letterstickers to stick but a load of glue did the trick!

Thanks for visting today!
